ART FOR CHILDREN

At Images For Inclusion we champion the transformative power of art. We believe art is inclusion, and it's a vital tool for empowering girls and boys to express themselves, connect with others, and build confidence.

We're bringing this vision to life through vibrant initiatives like community murals in underserved areas, inspiring writing contests, and a rich tapestry of art activities—all designed to cultivate social inclusion and a sense of shared purpose.

Our journey began on June 12th at the Jacob Riis Cornerstone Community Center. During our Free Professional Family Photos / Family Art Day, our "Art for Children" project provided a joyful creative outlet for kids as their families waited for photographs. More than just entertainment, it was an opportunity for children to develop their artistic abilities and contribute to a collective masterpiece. This experience helped elevate their self-esteem, showing them they could create something beautiful and meaningful, together.

IFI is dedicated to creating more impactful art experiences that encourage children of all ages to unleash their imaginations, express their unique voices, and discover the profound beauty and power of art in all its forms.

This Mural for children was part of the Family PORTRAITS / FAMILY ART Day activity at Jacob Riis Cornerstone Community Center on Avenue D, New York. June 12, 2027.

Our Art For Children program is not just about creating; it's about empowering children by upholding their fundamental rights and fostering holistic development. Through engaging with art, children experience a multitude of profound benefits:

Art provides a powerful platform for self-expression and identity formation, fulfilling a child's right to express their views freely in all matters affecting them. It helps children to identify with one another, recognizing shared humanity while also celebrating their unique backgrounds. This creative outlet allows them to express their cultural differences vibrantly and respectfully, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for diversity within their community.

Moreover, engaging in art intrinsically teaches children to cherish creativity, innovation, and original thought – skills vital for their future and a direct exercise of their right to education that encourages the development of their personality, talents, and mental and physical abilities to their fullest potential. As children collaborate on projects and share their artistic journeys, it naturally creates unity among their community, bridging gaps and building strong social bonds. This collaborative spirit also significantly boosts their confidence in their own worth and abilities, reinforcing their right to an identity and to be heard. They learn that their contributions are valuable and that their unique perspectives enrich the collective experience.

Beyond being inherently educational and entertaining, art nurtures critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and emotional intelligence. It provides a safe space for children to process feelings, explore ideas, and develop a sense of agency over their own creations. In essence, "Art For Children" champions their right to play, culture, and active participation, contributing to well-rounded, confident, and socially aware individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to their world.
